Meet Our Staff
Pastor Wynn has been the pastor of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Columbus, Georgia since November 1999. Pastor Wynn grew up in a pastor’s home and was saved at the early age of six-years-old in Winchester, Tennessee. He is a 1980 graduate of Tennessee Temple University, located in Chattanooga. Since graduation, he has served churches in Alabama, Florida and Georgia. He is committed to the expository method of preaching the Word of God, and discipleship is a strong emphasis. He is a 1980 graduate of Tennessee Temple University and he received a Doctorate of Divinity from Calvary Baptist Bible College & Seminary in 2010.
The Lord has blessed Lighthouse with great ministry opportunities. Lighthouse is the home of Columbus Baptist School of Ministry, and Lighthouse Christian Academy.
He is married to Kathy, and they have raised two children (Stephen and Stephanie). They were married on July 7, 1979, in Savannah, GA. They are grateful for their children and grandchildren. He often quotes 3 John 4 as his desire for his family, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.”
Dan is from Boston, MA (but he is learning Southern). His first visits with Lighthouse in early 2004 were due to a co-worker friend, who had a burden for Dan. He says that those early visits always caused him to leave mad (i.e. convicted). However, one Sunday night in June 2004, Dan trusted the Lord as his Savior!
Soon after his conversion, he enrolled in Columbus Baptist College, and he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministries degree. During his studies, he realized the Lord was calling him to preach. He has become an ardent student of the Word, and is a very capable teacher/preacher of the Bible. Like the pastor, he is also committed to biblical exposition.
Dan married Stephanie Wynn in 2007. Together, they serve in the ministry, and are a great blessing. He is the teacher of the Auditorium Bible Class, which is broadcast each Sunday morning at 9:45am (EST) via the churches YouTube channel. Stephanie is the church pianist, Nursery Director, and teaches the Teen Girls Sunday School class. They also now have three children; Peter, Titus and Tabitha, and the boys are twins!
Donald and Leigh Wyckoff came to Lighthouse in the Summer of 2012. They immediately began to serve in the various areas of ministry.
When help was needed in the 2013-14 school year, in the Academy, Donald was quick to make himself available. He is currently the Elementary Supervisor/Teacher in the academy. He also teaches the Young Adult Sunday School class, and always has great interest from those in the class.
He is the man that puts the “fun” in fellowship. As the Church Activities Director, he insures that there are plenty of opportunities for ministry and fellowship.
As the son of Marty & Kathy Wynn, Stephen was raised in a pastor’s home. Although he made a profession of faith at the very young age of 6, it was not until he was 17 that he truly came to know Christ. It was one night during a service at the annual ACE Regional Convention, that the Holy Spirit convicted his heart, and he genuinely came to the Savior.
After high school, he enrolled in Columbus Baptist College, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Church Missions degree. He has spent extended periods on two different mission fields, and he has a heart for missions. However, due to some divinely appointed circumstances, he has been unable to travel. His heart is to train young people and challenge them to follow the call of God in getting the gospel to the world. He is currently serving as the principal of the church’s school (Lighthouse Christian Academy), and as the director of the church’s children and teen ministries.
In February of 2012, he and Karrisa Copas were married. They are now co-laborers in the ministry together, and they make a wonderful team. He teaches the Teen Boys Sunday School class, and she teaches the Discovery Kids Sunday School class.
Karissa came to Columbus in 2004 in order to attend Columbus Baptist College, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Church Missions degree. While attending college, she also learned the skills necessary to do graphic design and printing. In 2009, she became director of the printing and media ministry of the church. She is currently using this ministry to assist church and missions works in all parts of the world.
In February 2012 she married Stephen Wynn. They are co-laborers in the ministry. They make a great team!
